My New Happy Place
is whataburger field. where we went tonight to see dave throw out the first pitch in a hooks game. where the kids get to run wild on the playground, freak out over "scary" mascots, eat lots of cotton candy, dance to "the chicken" song, and roll down hills of grass. where if we can just manage as parents to get through the stress of corralling crazed and tired children, we are rewarded with an amazing fireworks display at the end of the night. and as we lay there with friends and family, every stress is forgotten. every bad behavior forgiven. pure childlike joy takes over. and this happy moment is etched in my memory permanently, or at least until i forget it. :)
