Weekend w/ the Froehlichs
oh sure, they look innocent enough. sweet grandparents, you're thinking. kind, gentle, fun. while they froehlichs may be all of these things, they also proved to be a little evil this weekend when they hand-delivered a mistress dressed in silver to my husband. his new tv. dave spent A LOT of time on friday just trying to get that hussy to work with our remotes & digital cable. and once he got her to work, we had to watch her. and watch her. and watch her. not that i'm jealous or anything!! she's not all bad, i guess. she does look pretty cute standing in our living room, but if they kids start calling her "Mommy," i'm outa here!

WARNING: peanut butter blog ahead. all those with peanut allergies (hayli & ethan, i mean you!) please stay away. jack is super proud of himself for making pb&j's all on his own, and i'm happy he's making my job a little easier these days! well, maybe i have a little more mess to clean up, but i still think it's an upgrade.

Vantastic!
it seems like for years we've been talking about how fun it would be if one of us had a van so we could ALL RIDE TOGETHER places instead of taking two cars everywhere. sunny got this van for a day to try it out before she makes her big car purchase, and we finally got to live the dream. the kids watched the lion king in the spacious back, and sunny & i got to chat it up in front. we like to think of ourselves as cooler than mini-van moms but have to admit they are pretty darn practical. and a little bit fun.

a word meaning meme.
i got tagged. don't really know what this means, but i think i'm playing a blogging game. sunny gave me 4 words and i'm writing what pops into my head about them.

1. relaxation: hammock. beach. breeze. breathing. sleep!
2. morning: coffee. 5am. quiet time. bible. god. tears. prayer. happiness.
3. neighborhood: unleashed. mine. ghetto. brick. small. sunny.
4. nightstand: brown. bare. dusty.

i'm tagging pancho, jess & leslie.
your words are: friend, mountain, freckles, movie
okay, so i stole some of your words, sunny. GOSH!

The Long Awaited Farm Blog!!!!
blogger finally decided to upload my pics (it's a moody little sucker) so i can properly blog about the farm now. shots: the guys (with dad looking a little too enthusiastic), the girls, granny & mia, the obligatory silly shot of bekah & stephen eating stew (no, my picky self didn't partake, but i heard it was wonderful), and dave forced into some hard manual labor. didn't spend much time outside as it was HOT HOT HOT, but it was still loads of fun to see everyone. and this time no one got hurt! more farm injury stories later. but whether mia viruses were spread is TBD. thanks to granny & johnny for a swell time!
spooky fan
mia's fan has been making spooky noises (even when it's off!) that send her into our bed in the middle of the night, and we're not really fond of this development, especially since she's such a restless sleeper. instead of putting up with her kicks and screams, we decided to do the mature thing: send her into jack's room and let him deal with her. so, until we can figure what's going on with the fan, they get to have sleepovers in jack's room. they love this so far. she just sleeps in her little mattress beside his bed and they talk (or scream) each other to sleep. we'll see how long the love fest lasts...

chocolate pudding, the beloved behavior bear, is back. jack earned him this week at school for his exceptional manners! when his teacher told me that, i immediately thought, my son? manners? apparently dave had some sort of secret talk with him about using yes m'am & no m'am, and mrs. mimi was impressed. so, way to work it, jack! now we're supposed to do fun things with chocolate pudding and write about them in the class journal. so far we've only gotten to fun thing 1: take him for a bike ride.

Perfect Day for the Park

baby belaney
that's mia for delaney, our new baby friend that we take care of for just a few hours a week. the kids (to my surprise) looooove having a baby in the house. they "take care of her" by singing loud lullabyes, shaking toys wildly at her, and making plenty of strange noises that make her cry. she is very sweet, though. i love holding her while she takes her nap. and she seems to like the kids (in small doses).

sicko
(a.k.a. school started again)

poor mia started throwing up @ 3am this morning, but she still had the poise to pose for a pic with her throw-up bucket. we watched a lot of tv together on my bed, which was kind of sweet. now she's in there getting some rest, thank goodness!

fantastic read
(and very short!)
for moms who sometimes feel invisible. thanks for the inspiration, mom!

dear everyone,
my wetsuit and mia's wetsuit are the awesomest. they're superhero costumes. my happy favorite part is i don't have to clean my room anymore to get my bathing suit. and also since mia has one too i'm also happy. i wished she had one too and now she does so great. and now i love it. and how come every time it goes down like that? and me, me, me, me, me. love you, everyone!
love,
jack
wedding crashers

we didn't really crash. i mean, technically, we were invited, but the kids sort of took over the dance floor and made their presence known during the ceremony, too. ahh, precious cherubs! :) here they are in "getting ready" mode, slow dancing, and posing with dad's bf & father of the bride, russell. also shown: mom w/ mother of the bride, suzanne. dad was also the mc, which is why he looks SO fancy. really fun wedding. can't wait for our next invite...

Meet Sansa
my new running buddy. i got him when i was too scared to run 13 miles alone, and he helped. maybe not enough, though. 13 miles is still 13 miles, and it was really tough for me. i hate to be a quitter, but crissy and i decided to smarten up and shoot for the half-marathon instead of the whole 26 miler. hopefully, we'll enjoy it more and keep running...maybe we'll go for the big one in a year or two.
so, here are my top 10 fav running songs right now:
1. switch, will smith
2. lonely no more, rob thomas
3. ever the same, rob thomas
4. i stand for you, tree 63
5. hung up, madonna
6. holy, nichole nordeman (sp?)
7. juicy, better than ezra
8. feel good inc, gorillaz
9. stars are blind, paris hilton
10. vertigo, u2

in other news...dave is the scary carrot face contest winner! thanks for all your votes (especially yours, leslie-if jack didn't get another vote, he was going to CRY BUCKETS!). i think dave will be making a celebratory speech shortly.

we rock!
the kids apparently thought they were rock stars after getting treated to some new threads at the outlet mall sat. one of the perks of canyon lake is that the outlets are only 20 minutes away! thanks, winnie & poppy! and thanks, irma & henry, for another fun holiday weekend filled with swimming, star gazing, new toys, birthdays, plenty of dog drama, mia madness & fried shrimp. rest up before our next visit!

jen's birthday dinner
was a little nervous about eating at dragonfly-a FRENCH restaurant on the island. everyone else had lamb & frenchie food. thankfully, hamburgers were also on the menu, and mine was REALLY good. one of the best i've ever had. so, it was a good night and no one had to deal with pouty mariah (the girl that shows up when a meal is disappointing). jen is the one in white. yes, those girls are twins. and yes, all these women are PG but me.

early morning snuggle time
