prayer bevy

so i joined a prayer group...we trade prayer requests and keep up with our partner for a month. after about a week of praying, my prayer partner called me to see how I was doing and if there was anything else i could pray for. then she prayed for me over the phone. i was shocked! that wasn't supposed to be part of the prayer deal. it was such a blessing, though, to be prayed for out loud by a complete stranger. when she ended the call with "i love you" i really felt like she did. then it was my turn to call my prayer partner a few days later. i felt awkward about this...i didn't know my lady and she's older than me, and the doubts crept in...what can i really offer her? what do we have in common? can i pray for her out loud? something kept pressing me to call her, so i did. it turned out to be the 1 year anniversary of her son dying. everyone in her family had left her alone to deal with her grief. she kept herself busy making pies, keeping doctor appointments, and cleaning the house. when i called she was able to talk about it, tell me her story and then i felt compelled to pray for her over the phone. it was a beautiful moment. the kind where you know god is real and has put you in this place for this purpose.

I love that!!!!! We have been studying prayer at church and we have discussed just that. I also have put praying that moment in practice and the blessings are ten fold. One of our associate pastors has become a great mentor to me and she gave such insight to me on this. So many times we promise top pray for someone and walk away never to utter a word to God about it. So, she said pray with that person right then. It has done amazing things!!! Hugs to you all!
